Hand-eye coordination is needed to catch a pass. To practice hand-eye-coordination gather your teammates together and form a circle. One person should stand in the center of the circle and begin passing the ball around. Once the ball has been passed to everyone, widen the circle by taking a couple of steps backwards.

You should be careful when playing football in bad weather; sometimes you should stop the game completely. Football is a game that is played in virtually any weather. Professional games are playing in snow, rain, or sleet. Of course, if playing conditions are not safe, the game is stopped. You need to do that, too. Playing in dangerous conditions can cause serious injuries.

Practice the way that you expect to play. Don’t shake off practice as a necessary evil that doesn’t deserve your full effort. Chances are that’s the same effort you’ll give at game time. Instead, practice like you mean it. That effort will rub off on your teammates, and you’ll all be more likely to succeed.

To be an effective quarterback, you need to have good footwork. Every single step means something and counts toward the goal of victory for your whole team. As a quarterback, you should practice twisting and back pedaling whenever possible.

When kids play football, make sure that they are safe. Due to the violent nature and the number of players, football tends to cause lots of injuries. These can include minor pains and aches, but also injuries like pulled muscles, ankle sprains, broken bones, concussions, and torn ligaments. Many of these can be prevented by having kids wear proper equipment, play by the rules, and use proper techniques.

Continually make your work outs harder. Don’t just run, but run carrying weights. Don’t just do squats, do them while holding a barbell. Do these work outs under the guidance of your coach or a trainer so that you don’t end up injuring yourself, but do push yourself to your limits.

Talk to your coach about your progress. While your coach is more than likely giving you a lot of direction already, talk to him after practice. He might be calmer then, and he may be able to offer you tips about how you can improve. You can ask him about how far you’ve progressed, as well.

Invest time in learning the plays, and invest money in books that teach the mental aspect of football. Regardless of what position you play, know every player’s moves and responsibilities. This makes a cohesive team that anticipates one another’s actions and thoughts. It does you no good to be an excellent quarterback if the rest of your team is not in sync with your mindset. You will end up being on a losing team.

Learn how to properly tie your football cleats. Many players sustain ankle injuries because their football cleats are not tied tight enough.
